FAQ
What is URL-safe Base64?
A variant that uses - and _ instead of + and / and drops the = padding, so the result can be used in URLs and file names. JWTs use it. The decoder accepts both variants automatically.
Why does decoding say the data is not text?
The Base64 contains binary data such as an image or a ZIP file rather than text. This tool decodes text only.
Is Base64 encryption?
No. Base64 is an encoding, not encryption — anyone can decode it. Do not use it to hide secrets.
