Your images stay on your device — nothing is uploaded

About this tool

This image compressor makes JPG, PNG and WebP files smaller so they upload faster, load faster on websites and fit size limits for forms and email. Choose the quality and see the new file size and the percentage saved for each image. For the smallest files, convert to WebP or JPG and reduce the dimensions too.

How to use

  1. Drop your images, click to choose them, or paste a screenshot.
  2. Adjust the quality (around 70–80 keeps photos looking good) and optionally change the format or size.
  3. Check the new size of each image, then download one or all of them.

FAQ

Why did my PNG get bigger?

PNG is a lossless format, so its quality setting cannot shrink it — and the browser’s PNG encoder is not always as efficient as the one that made the original. Choose WebP (keeps transparency) or JPG for a much smaller file.

What quality should I choose?

For photos, 70–80 usually looks the same as the original at a fraction of the size. Go lower for thumbnails, and higher (90+) when the image will be printed or edited again.

How do I get an image under 100 KB (or 50 KB)?

Lower the quality step by step, switch the format to WebP or JPG, and reduce the width (for example to 1280 or 800 pixels). Size limits on forms are usually easy to meet with all three.

Can I process several images at once?

Yes. Drop or choose several images together. Each one is processed with the same settings, and you can download them one by one or all at once.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Images are processed by your own browser using the built-in canvas, so they never leave your device. This also makes it fast — there is nothing to upload or download.
