About this tool
This tool finds every occurrence of a word or phrase in your text and replaces it in one go, showing how many matches were replaced. Match upper/lower case exactly, replace whole words only, or use regular expressions for advanced patterns such as dates, emails or numbers.
How to use
- Paste your text into the Input box.
- Type what to find and what to replace it with (leave "Replace with" empty to delete the matches).
- Choose the options you need. The result updates as you type — copy or download it.
FAQ
What does "Whole words only" do?
It matches the word on its own, not inside longer words. Replacing "cat" will change "cat" but not "catalog" or "concat".
How do I use regular expressions?
Tick "Regular expression" and type a JavaScript pattern, for example \d+ for numbers. In "Replace with", use $1, $2… to insert captured groups, $& for the whole match, and \n or \t for a new line or tab. For example, find (\d{4})-(\d{2})-(\d{2}) and replace with $3/$2/$1 to turn 2026-01-15 into 15/01/2026.
Can I replace text with a new line?
Yes. Tick "Regular expression" and type \n in "Replace with" — for example, to put each comma-separated item on its own line.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser, so your text never leaves your device.
