About this tool
This tool breaks a URL into its parts — protocol, user name, host, port, path, query string and fragment — and lists every query parameter with its decoded value. It also turns the query string into JSON, ready for your code or API tests. Paste a full URL, or just a query string like ?page=2&sort=price.
How to use
- Paste a URL or a query string.
- See each part of the URL and every query parameter, decoded (%20 and + become spaces).
- Copy any value, or copy or download the parameters as JSON.
FAQ
What are the parts of a URL?
In https://shop.example.com:8080/shoes?size=9#reviews: "https:" is the protocol, "shop.example.com" the host name, "8080" the port, "/shoes" the path, "?size=9" the query string and "#reviews" the fragment. The fragment is never sent to the server — it is used by the browser.
What happens when a parameter appears more than once?
Each one is listed separately, in order. In the JSON, the values are collected into an array: color=blue&color=black becomes "color": ["blue", "black"].
Why is the port shown as "443 (default)"?
When a URL has no port, the protocol’s default is used: 443 for https and 80 for http. A port is only written in the URL when it is different from the default.
Is the URL sent anywhere?
No. It is parsed in your browser with the standard URL API, so private links and tokens stay on your device.
