About this tool
This text analyzer counts words, characters, sentences, paragraphs and lines as you type, and estimates how long your text takes to read and to speak aloud. It also lists your most frequent keywords and their density, which helps when writing blog posts, essays, product descriptions or social media captions with a word or character limit. It works with English and many other languages, and your text never leaves your browser.
How to use
- Paste or type your text into the box.
- The statistics update instantly: words, characters (with and without spaces), sentences, paragraphs and more.
- Check the estimated reading and speaking time.
- Review the top keywords and their density to spot words you repeat too often.
FAQ
How is reading time calculated?
Reading time assumes an average silent reading speed of 238 words per minute. Speaking time assumes 150 words per minute, a typical pace for presentations.
How are words counted?
Words are detected with your browser’s built-in language-aware text segmentation (Intl.Segmenter), so counts are accurate for English and for many other languages, including Hindi. Punctuation is not counted as a word.
What is keyword density?
Keyword density is how often a word appears compared with the total number of words, shown as a percentage. Very common words such as “the” and “and” are left out so the list shows meaningful keywords.
Do emojis count as one character?
Yes. Characters are counted the way people see them, so an emoji — even one made of several code points, like a skin-tone emoji — counts as one character.
Is my text saved?
