About this tool
This tool generates random strings from the characters you choose — lowercase and uppercase letters, digits, symbols, or your own custom characters. Create test data, coupon codes, API keys, file names or identifiers, one at a time or thousands at once.
How to use
- Set the length of each string and how many you need.
- Choose the character types, and add any extra characters in “Also use”.
- Press Generate for a new set, then copy or download the strings.
FAQ
How is this different from the Password Generator?
The Password Generator makes sure every selected character type appears and shows password strength. This tool simply picks every character at random from your chosen set, supports custom characters, and is built for generating many strings at once.
Can I use only my own characters?
Yes. Untick all the character types and type the characters you want in “Also use”, for example ABCDEF0123456789.
How random are the results?
They come from your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), with no bias towards any value. Nothing is sent to a server.
