- The preview and every other format update instantly.
- Click Copy next to the format you need.
FAQ
What is the difference between RGB, HSL and HSV?
RGB mixes red, green and blue light (0–255 each). HSL describes a colour by hue (0–360°), saturation and lightness — handy for making a colour lighter or darker in CSS. HSV (also called HSB) uses hue, saturation and value/brightness, and is what design tools like Photoshop show in their colour pickers.
Is the CMYK value exact for printing?
It is the standard mathematical conversion, which is fine for a starting point. Exact print colours depend on the printer, ink and paper, so professional printing uses colour profiles.
What does the 4th pair in an 8-digit HEX code mean?
It is the transparency (alpha): 00 is fully transparent, 80 is about 50% and FF is fully opaque. For example #1e90ff80 is a half-transparent blue.
Can I enter colour names like "red"?
Not yet — please use a HEX, RGB or HSL value. The colour picker gives you a HEX code for any colour.
